Good Shepherd Hospice—Did You Know…
  • While serving the residents of Nassau and Suffolk Counties, the staff of Good Shepherd Hospice has provided care to almost 22,000 families representing 1,080,336 days of Hospice Care.
  • The Medicare and Medicaid Hospice Benefit (as well as commercial coverage) divides hospice care into four levels: Routine Home Care, Inpatient Care, Continuous Care and Respite Care. Call our Access Department for more information 631-465-6363.
  • In 2008, 52% of our patients who were admitted did NOT have cancer.

  • Medicare, Medicaid and most Commercial Insurance Companies cover: hospice services, medications needed for symptom management, and durable medical equipment.
  • Good Shepherd Hospice sponsors a unique Palliative Care Department that serves the community through educational sessions and direct psychosocial support.
  • Hospice Emergency Services are available on a 24 hour / 7 day per week basis!
  • We serve the residents of Nassau and Suffolk County NY.
  • 90+% of Good Shepherd Hospice’s full-time eligible nurses have obtained a special certification to care for Hospice and Palliative Care patients.
